Rare Co-sponsors Exhibit on “Human/Nature”

Rare and two leading U.S. museums have sent some of the world’s top artists to World Heritage sites around the globe to capture and interpret our most fascinating ecosystems through contemporary art. This traveling exhibition co-sponsored with UC Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archive; and the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego recently had its opening in San Diego on Aug. 17.

Photographer Jason Houston went to the opening of “Human/Nature: Artists Respond to a Changing Planet,” which  gathered a wide range of contemporary artists and conservationists all pondering: Can contemporary art inspire conservation. Read Jason’s insights on the event and the Human/Nature project (formally titled “Rare Art”) and view photos from the exhibit.
